At Fordingbridge, we’re extremely proud of the strong relationship we have with emergency services across the country and of the emergency service canopy projects we’ve completed that make their essential work easier on a day-to-day basis.
Weatherproof canopies
With all emergency services, work speed is of the essence and everything that can be done to make operating quickly, easier, and more comfortable is a real priority. It’s also essential that the vital equipment these services rely on is protected from the elements.
We work closely with each emergency service that approaches us to understand their exact needs so that we can design and build tailored, cost-effective solutions that enhance the running of their daily operations:
- John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford came to us urgently needing to expand its busy city Emergency Department. A new 6m x 18m gullwing ambulance canopy created a striking and practical solution, providing a new all-weather area for crews to work efficiently under as patients (often in a critical condition) arrived at the hospital
- Greater Manchester Police needed to provide all-weather protection for the armed unit and their equipment and ensure it can be transported to and from armed vehicles each day. Our solution? A high cantilevered canopy that accommodated their many different types of vehicle while protecting vital equipment from all the British weather could throw at it.
- Barnsley Hospital came to us wanting to build an ambulance drop-off canopy and link walkway for their busy Children’s Emergency Ward. Working directly with both their local NHS Trust and principal contractor we designed, manufactured, and installed a bespoke 33m canopy that has quickly come to function as a much used and loved working entrance.
