Barnsley Hospital approached us wanting to design and build an ambulance drop-off canopy and associated link walkway as part of a £3.5m development to feature a co-located Children’s Emergency Ward and purpose-built Children’s Assessment Unit.

Working directly with both Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and principal contractor Illingworth & Gregory, we designed and manufactured a bespoke 33m canopy and link walkway in our custom-built West Sussex factory ensuring that all steel work was powder coated in the hospital’s colours to blend seamlessly in with the new buildings.

The wow

All installation work was carried out under the supervision of our dedicated Health & Safety Manager and was undertaken out-of-hours to ensure the hospital’s busy Children’s departments could remain fully operational throughout. The result has been a resounding success in creating a cohesive feel to the hospital’s multiple sites and departments and the Trust was delighted that all works would be covered by industry leading 25-year guarantees.
