Covered ambulance bay provides weather protection for ambulance crews and patients

The brief

John Radcliffe Hospital urgently needed an expansion to its busy Emergency Department. As a priority a new covered ambulance bay was needed that would seamlessly blend with the new scheme and protect crews and patients as they entered and exited the building.

The response

A striking gullwing covered ambulance canopy provided a beautiful and practical solution. The 16mm triple wall polycarbonate roof ensured daylight could permeate through to create a bright, inviting entrance light enough for crews to work efficiently under, whilst also providing practical all-weather protection for patients and visitors.
