A big move with even bigger impact

Schools’ needs are constantly changing. But the good news is that our expert education team is used to flexing alongside evolving needs – even when it requires a herculean effort!

 Back in Spring 2024, Manor Drive Academy in Peterborough, came to us wanting to create a large, covered space for outdoor dining and learning.

Since its installation, our contemporary 23m x 15m dining canopy has quickly become the social hub of the school – a place loved and used for al fresco dining, after school clubs and school events.

But as student numbers grew, the popular school soon realised it would have to extend its core building, with an obvious site for extension being that currently occupied by the dining canopy – a real headache.

Luckily however, we always design with the future in mind and our robust structures are strong enough to be put through their paces!

So, once we heard about the school’s conundrum, we waited for the next school holiday – to ensure minimal disruption to learning – and then moved the vast structure 100m across the site, where it can be enjoyed for decades to come.
