School’s out: Hard hats are on!

The bell might have rung for the final day of school but we’re just about to embark on our busiest time of year for education projects and are delighted to be helping schools across the UK upgrade their sites while no students are around…

Education projects are some of our favourites to work on. Not only do we love the variety, but our expert teams enjoy rising to the challenge of delivering quality education canopies within restricted time frames that have to withstand years of the heaviest use imaginable!

Join us for a quick whistlestop tour of some of the many upgrades we’ll be delivering over six jam packed weeks of design, manufacturing and installation activity:

• Hatch End School High School in Harrow, we’re installing a huge 36m x 20m taper trellis canopy that will create a valued new social hub – an all-weather social and dining space that can accommodate hundreds of students.
• Blatchington Mill School in Hove, Brighton: Having previously helped this large secondary school in Hove enclose a courtyard space at the heart of the school, we’re back! This time, we’re building a stunning timber framed canopy to create an aesthetically attractive extension to the school’s busy dining hall. Not only will this new area free up space in the main school building – it will also enable the school’s 1600+ students to enjoy the proven benefits of enjoying fresh air in all weathers.
• Fairfield School, Batley: A new 35m x5m walkway from the school’s car park to its main entrance will provide protection against every type of British weather – enhancing accessibility at the school, which is already renowned for its exemplary SEND facilities, including an impressive new sensory room.
• Five Acres High School, Gloucestershire: With the benefits of students spending time outside increasingly well documented, we’re seeing more and more schools encouraging quality outdoor time. Five Acres School is doing this with the installation of a brand new 16m x 8m canopy that will provide a bright and airy new all-weather dining and social space.
• Forest & Sandridge School, Melksham: Space has never been more at a premium than now, and we’re seeing schools getting increasingly creative about the use of their grounds. This summer Forest & Sandridge School is covering a modest 3m x 10m currently underused area of their site to create a vibrant new outdoor learning area – ideal for outdoor reading, experiments or even performances!
• Melksham Oak Community School, Melksham: A 12m x 17m taper trellis being installed right outside the schools dining hall to extend the amount of seating.
