How can a school cycle shelter help your school?

We know that for lots of schools, colleges, and universities promoting sustainability and fitness are both big drives. So why not encourage both at once by installing a bike or scooter shelter?

When installing canopies for schools, we’ve seen this become an increasingly popular option over the years, and have installed shelters at schools, colleges, and university campuses across the UK, with our biggest project being six green roof cycle shelters on the Biomedical campus at the University of Cambridge.

Five wheely good reasons to install a shelter

  1. Bike and scooter shelters are a great way of demonstrating your whole-school or college approach to sustainability (useful for prospectuses, websites, and Ofsted reports!)
  2. We can design shelter with green roofs to instantly enhance biodiversity across your site. (Green roofs are a great way of meeting BREEAM and biodiversity net gain requirements if you’re planning a wider site development project).
  3. Enabling your students to ride into school or university is a simple way to empower young people to do something positive for the planet.
  4. Encouraging bike and scooter riding helps ease car congestion and parking around your site.
  5. Shelters increase security. Bikes and scooters can be locked under the canopy through dedicated fixings and shelters can be fitted with security lighting.

So why not get in touch today? Shelters are more cost-effective than you might think and they’re a great way to make a sustainability commitment that has an instant impact.
