Padel is having a serious moment. One of the biggest sports success stories of the past five years, demand for courts has rocketed – and it’s showing no signs of slowing. Now, across the country, sports centres and gyms are racing to serve up their own slice of padel action, and we’ve been helping two of the country’s biggest gym brands do exactly that…
Why padel? Why now?
With competition for members in the gym space more competitive than ever the pressure is on to stand out. Offering padel is proving to be a winning move – not just in terms of offering a fresh facility, but because it’s:
With so many advantages, it’s no wonder so many big hitters are wanting to get in on the game…
David Lloyd: Strong design achieves ambitious rollout
When David Lloyd approached us, they had bold plans: install all-weather padel courts across multiple sites and do it fast!
To match their pace, our expert in-house design team created a modular, distinctive canopy structure that could be adapted site to site without the need for a complete redesign. This smart, scalable approach enabled us to keep rollout rapid, costs under control all whilst achieving a smart, distinctive look for the gym giant’s new all-weather padel facilities.
The result? Bold and contemporary year-round padel facilities that achieve all-important stand out from other local gym facilities. Think:
To date we’ve installed all-weather padel court canopies at David Lloyd’s sites in Emerson Green, Bristol; Northwood in West London; Farnham, Kent; Milton Keynes and Finchley in North London – all in a matter of months – and that’s just the start!
Bannatyne Gyms: Covered courts, uncovered potential
With covered padel courts shown to generate 60%+ higher occupancy than uncovered ones (hardly a surprise given what the British weather can throw at us!) Bannatyne Gyms were determined to make their new padel courts year-round facilities.
They turned to us to help them make their mark and our team delivered a striking barrel-vaulted canopy structure covering their first two courts at their Ingleby Barwick gym in Stockton on Tees. With the courts solidly booked from the moment of their installation it’s proven to be a a smart investment that positions the gym chain perfectly to become serious players in the booming padel space.
