Enabling Powerleague to diversity their sports offer
For years, Powerleague Birmingham has been a firm fixture on the West Midlands sporting scene, offering its local community 17 floodlit football pitches for tournaments, meet ups and training sessions.
In 2023 the popular community sports facility provider diversified its offer with the addition of padel court facilities at its Shoreditch site. The courts were an instant hit and so Powerleague quickly decided to replicate this success at their Birmingham site, but this time wanted to create an all-weather play experience.
Our solution? A vast 65m x 11m triple vaulted padel court roof covering all three new padel courts and protecting the courts and players from rain, wind, and harmful UV rays. The canopy was created using our unique Opal 60 fabric that allows 60% daylight to filter through, creating a light-filled playing experience and cutting down on the need for artificial lighting – a significant sustainability and cost win.

Matching world class facilities
When Nottingham Lawn Tennis Centre approached us wanting to create a new padel offering to complement their renowned tennis facilities we knew the solution would have to be something special.
Working closely with their team we created a huge 23m x 35m triple span padel court canopy that covered the three new courts with a single, streamlined structure. Keen to create a striking look for their new courts the centre opted for our developed model. This structure uses rolled CHS beams to create a barrel vaulted padel court roof, with minimal structural elements visible for a simple striking aesthetic.
