Creating padel court covers for three brand new courts at a much-loved sports facility

For years, Powerleague Birmingham has been a firm fixture on the West Midlands sporting scene, offering 10 floodlit 5-aside pitches and two 7-aside football pitches.

Having recently installed padel court facilities at its Shoreditch site that have been booked out since launch, Powerleague came to us wanting to replicate this success at their Birmingham site. But this time they wanted padel court roofs to enable all-weather play.

We designed a steel taper trellis structure to create a vast triple vaulted canopy covering all three new padel courts. The roof of the structure was covered in our unique Opal 60 roofing fabric that blocks rain and harmful UV rays, while allowing 60% natural daylight to filter through.
