This week we’re excited to announce the completion of an ambitious transformation project for a return client; upgrading their existing garden centre canopies and building a new alfresco dining area.
In Spring this year, just over 10 years after they first came to us to provide two giant garden centre canopies for outdoor plant display, Trowell Garden Centre in Nottingham turned to us once again to design and build key elements of their ambitious upgrade programme.
And it’s now complete – ready to welcome thousands of visitors over the coming year.
Transforming existing garden centre canopies to improve customer experience
The biggest element of the upgrade was the conversion of the canopies we installed a decade ago into fully insulated and heated new retail show spaces – demonstrating both the flexibility and longevity of the structures we create.
We also designed and installed two vast new 10m x 45m taper trellis steel canopies to house a new alfresco dining area, creating an exciting additional revenue opportunity for the centre.
Two additional 10m x 15m canopies will provide protection for extensive new plant display areas. Both were covered with our unique fire-retardant Opal 60 membrane which shields shoppers from harmful UV rays, while still allowing 60% daylight to penetrate for ideal growing conditions and a light-filled browsing experience.
Finally, we created a new 10m x 35m taper trellis steel canopy with fully insulated roof to provide all-weather protection for a new service and delivery yard.
It’s been exciting to chart and play a part in Trowell’s meteoric rise and we can’t wait to see the contribution these latest canopies and additions make to the next stage of their journey…
