What a year it’s been! From padel to plants to pupil filled MUGAs

We always knew 2024 was going to be a busy year, but none of us could have anticipated just how busy, varied, or fun it would be. So, it’s a real pleasure to share just a small selection of our team’s highlights from the past 12 months:
- Padel, padel everywhere: We’ve loved travelling the length and breadth of the UK from Manchester to Folkestone, Birmingham to Brentwood to deliver padel court covers, that tens of thousands of players now enjoy every week.
- Going bigger and bigger: It’s been a year which has seen us deliver some of our biggest ever sports canopies. These included a vast 42m x 42m canopy to create the world’s first indoor / outdoor hybrid cricket facility at Bradford Park Avenue, working in collaboration with the English Cricket Board and Total Play. The facility has been a huge hit and constantly houses games and training sessions whatever the British weather has in store!
- Re-visiting old friends: One of the things we most enjoy about our work is how often we’re invited back. This year we revisited Trowell Garden Centre In Nottinghamshire to complete an ambitious upgrade project. The upgrade saw us convert an existing canopy into a fully insulated retail space, create all-weather canopy protection for two new plant areas and design and deliver a vast new outdoor dining canopy.
And we’ve already been invited back to Manchester Padel Club! Less than a year after delivering the club’s first padel court canopy we’ve been commissioned to design and deliver their next padel court cover as they’ve been so delighted by members’ response to the all-weather protection the first canopy provides.
- Sports galore in schools: In an Olympic year, we’ve seen schools embrace outdoor sports with gusto and have delivered MUGA canopies for schools across the UK, to provide all-weather outdoor games areas for pupils. Demand for these flexible outdoor spaces never higher. Find out more about our most recent MUGA canopy installations.
- Exciting sustainable solutions: Finally, this year it’s been exciting to see soaring demand for our raft of sustainable solutions from living walls to solar panel and sedum roofs. And without a doubt one of the living roofs we most enjoyed installing was on the Reptile House at London Zoo. Now it won’t just be the inside of the build that attracts wildlife but the outside too!
