New-all weather sports canopy ensuring year-round play at community cricket ground

The brief

Popular community cricket ground Bradford Park Avenue in Yorkshire wanted to ensure their cricket facilities could be used year-round y adding an all-weather sports canopy.

The response

In partnership with Total Play, and funded by the English Cricket Board, Fordingbridge designed, manufactured, and installed a vast sports canopy to create new hybrid cricket facility – the first of its kind in the world!

The dome’s vast 42m x 42m canopy has transformed it into a true all-weather facility. The sports canopy structure is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and is covered by our unique Opal 60 fabric that is not only water and windproof, but also screens out harmful UV rays to provide protection for players come rain or shine.

The wow

This vast dome is one of our largest sports canopies to date! The hybrid cricket dome features an impressive 10 practice bays, which will double capacity at the ground to provide sessions for 10,000 local people each year.
