Sports clubs across the UK wake up to the value of padel facilities

The UK’s insatiable demand for padel is seeing sport clubs across the country diversify to offer padel court facilities to members and they’re reaping the rewards…

Little known about until just a few years ago, padel is rapidly becoming the UK’s fastest growing sport and it’s easy to see why. Sociable and simple to pick up, the game that is a hybrid between squash and tennis provides a fun work out that is dangerously addictive.

The result? New padel facilities are popping up nationwide every week. The Lawn Tennis Association estimates that there are now over 500 courts around Britain and that number is growing all the time.

We’re currently working with some of the UK’s largest specialist padel providers, but we’re also seeing growing demand from wider sports clubs – with increasing numbers waking up to the draw that padel courts provide, with all-weather padel facilities helping to attract new members to their club and adding value to their offering for existing members.

• At the end of last year we installed two new 13m span padel court covers at The Grange Club in the stunning Edinburgh suburb of Stockbridge. The club’s new all-weather padel facilities have proved such a hit that there’s currently a waiting list for membership at the sports club that also provides top-tier cricket, tennis, hockey and squash facilities
• In January this year we completed the installation of a 12m twin span canopy covering two of the three brand new riverside padel courts at Belfast Boat Club. The new twin span canopy offers club members the option of year-round padel play whether there’s ice on the river or members enjoying drinks in the sun!
• Powerleague is the UK’s leading operator of small-sided football pitches with 42 football centres across the UK and is now rapidly building a name for itself in padel too. Having already completed a project installing padel court covers for three brand new courts at Powerleague Birmingham in 2024, we’ve been working with the leading sports facility provider to create new all-weather padel facilities at its popular Manchester site too. And throughout the year we’ll be travelling the UK to complete padel projects at many more Powerleague sport centres
• We’re also currently on-site at Haywards Heath Rugby Club where we’re installing canopies over three new padel courts at the popular community club which is set to become even more of a community hub…
