Leading UK sports operator turns to Fordingbridge again to expand padel offer

Powerleague is one of the UK’s largest sports facilities providers with 42 football centres across the UK and Ireland.

Having already installed all-weather padel court canopies at their popular Birmingham site, Powerleague came to us looking to create stand out padel facilities in the city rapidly establishing itself as a padel powerhouse – Manchester.

The new courts would be put through their paces with Powerleague keen to offer introduction to padel sessions, pay and play sessions, padel club social sessions, as well as regular lessons, so we knew the new padel court canopies would need to be durable enough to stand the test of time, with regular, year-round use.

Powerleague’s new padel facilities at their Manchester Nicholl’s site are first class, from the club house and bar to the changing room and food offered. So, we knew that the padel play experience would also have to be premium, all the way through to our bespoke padel court covers.

Our solution? A barrel-vaulted taper trellis structure that covers six courts, to provide truly all-weather protection. Mesh sides on all perimeters creates air flow throughout the spaces to make them comfortable to play in even in the height of summer, while the padel court canopies protect players from all forms of precipitation to enable year-round play. Crucially the height offered by the barrel-vaulted design ensures an inviting, light-filled play experience, that enables players to play the same game and shots they would outside.
