A brew with Olivia LeGon – the glue to our busy sales team!

Liv is our Sales Co-ordinator and the first point of contact for many of our customers as she answers all incoming phone and email requests and helps to ensure each enquiry is matched with the right experts in our team…

How did you get into this role Liv?

I worked as a PA at a local arable and cattle farming business for three years and was looking for my next challenge when I saw the job advertised with Fordingbridge. It seemed perfect as the company has an arm supporting agricultural businesses with polytunnels and polyhouses, but it also gave me the opportunity to progress into understanding new areas like education, sports and retail, which was exciting.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day is different and that’s what I love about the role. I spend a lot of my day talking with customers about what they’re looking for and following up on questionnaires about projects. I also accompany the sales team on some site visits, help prepare for trade shows, compile monthly sales reports and work closely with our marketing team.

What has most surprised you about the role?

I got a good feeling as soon as I came in for my interview and knew it would be a friendly place to be, but I didn’t realise just how close knit the team would be until I worked here. Everyone is encouraged to be themselves and all the teams work closely together.

We all sit in an open plan office which means that everyone understands and respects the different contributions each team makes. It also makes it easy to work collaboratively on projects. I think that closeness benefits our customers as they’re dealing with a single joined-up team.

What do you most enjoy about the role?

I like the fact that my role sits in the middle of sales, design, project management and marketing as I get a good feel for all the ‘cogs’ that make a project come together. I also like the fact that although the culture is professional, we also have a lot of laughs too.

Are there any new trends you’re seeing in enquiries?

Obviously padel is a huge trend and seems to be growing and growing but other than that what I like is the variety.

We work on everything from creating cafes for big names like Costa, to creating covered plant display areas for big garden centres or installing all-weather outdoor dining facilities for schools. I love the fact that whether a project is big or small the whole team takes a real pride in what they do.

Finally, what do you like doing in your spare time?

My big passion is my horse, Rocket. He’s 18 years old now, but I’ve had him for five years and we’ve travelled the country showjumping together. He and my dog take up most of my time, but when I do have any free time I also love to travel. My all-time favourite destinations have been New York, Greece and Dubai and you can’t go wrong with the New Forest when you have a dog and are a horse lover!
