Tetbury Hospital in Gloucestershire is renowned for its intimate feel and warm welcoming atmosphere.

A major programme of works looked to further enhance the patient experience with greater connection between the different departments within the hospital.

The result? A stunning covered walkway that now enables patients, staff and visitors to move comfortably between the hospital’s Minor Injuries and Illnesses department, X-ray department and car park.

The sheltered walkway blends seamlessly with the country style of the hospital thanks to its beautiful timber frame, while its generous proportions (it is 2m wide) creates shelter from all weathers and allows comfortable wheelchair use.

The wow

The hospital’s covered walkway not only provides all-weather protection but also features intermittently placed benches and potted plants to create a welcoming place for patients and visitors to rest and enjoy the fresh air in a sheltered environment.
