The brief

Mercia Forest Crematorium approached us wanting to create a private, sheltered space for the laying of floral tributes and the opportunity for reflection.

The response

We created a timber framed walkway from the crematorium to a new sheltered floral tribute area. The linking structures create a natural flow, guiding guests from one area to the other without the need for obtrusive signage.

The use of our exclusive Opal 60 fabric as the roofing option also allows 60% natural daylight to penetrate, allowing the sheltered floral tribute area and timber framed walkway to be flooded with uplifting light, whilst protecting guests and floral displays from wind, rain, or strong sun.

The wow

We design and manufacture all our structures on a single site, enabling us to create structures that blend seamlessly with their surroundings. In this case glulaminated timber ties in with the crematorium building and provides a comforting natural environment for guests to be in. Reassuringly all our structures are also FSC and PEFC certified, guaranteeing their sustainability.
