New covered walkway provides retail space and better flow around popular centre

Having worked with Lady Green Garden Centre several years ago to upgrade their plant display canopies, we were delighted to be approached by the popular garden centre group again.

This time their brief was to replace an existing structure and install a covered walkway that would connect their canopied plant display areas with the main garden centre to create year-round shelter for shoppers. They were also keen to improve flow around their large centre to encourage visitors to explore every corner.

To keep costs down, we suggested to Lady Green Garden Centre that they go with one of our pre-designed timber walkways, which gives a high-end natural aesthetic while offering a budget conscious option.

With a generous 6m width Lady Green Garden Centre’s new walkway extends over 75m to connect the main retail centre with several plant display areas. Not only does it create enhanced flow around the centre the walkway also promotes greater discovery of all the centre has to offer by encouraging shoppers to explore more remote plant display areas in all weathers and seasons.

The new walkway also creates a more comfortable and inviting shopping experience, with shoppers shielded from wind, rain or unforgiving sun. Thanks to its generous dimensions, the walkway also provides additional retail space and is being used by the centre to showcase seasonal plants, garden ornaments and plant pots, which are dotted along at intervals along the way and sheltered from all weathers. In addition, new benches are now stationed along the walkway to provide rest breaks for weary legs to encourage dwell time.
