Canopy duo creates valuable new display and demo spaces

Following a successful garden centre canopy installation at their Goonhavern Garden Centre, Cornwall Garden Shop – an independent family-owned group – approached us wanting two new canopy solutions at their popular Chacewater Garden Centre in Truro.

With the first canopy they wanted to create a new all-weather space for displaying plants year-round, while with the second they wanted to create a valuable new year-round demo area, that showcased larger garden equipment in a versatile indoor/outdoor space.

The wow

Our solution? Two robust, galvanised steel taper trellis canopies, each designed to meet specific needs.

The first, measuring a vast 51.5m x 12m, provides year-round, all-weather protection for the centre’s impressive plant range, protecting plants from wind, sun, rain, hail, sleet and snow. The second smaller 12m x 7m canopy has created an inviting new demo space – perfect for showcasing new furniture and BBQ ranges in the outdoor environment they’ll be used in – whilst still protecting them from the elements.

Both new canopies are supported by robust galvanised steel structures that come with impressive 25-year lifetime guarantees, ensuring that the garden centre’s customers will be able to enjoy the attractive new spaces for decades to come.

The unique Opal 60 roofing used in the plant canopy enables 60% daylight penetration to give the plants beneath ideal growing conditions while protecting shoppers from harmful UV rays.

Importantly, as installation took place during the busy spring retail season, our team worked outside shopping hours and completed the project in just under two weeks to ensure minimal disruption to the shopping experience.
