Plant display canopy from our pre-designed range has a big impact for Kiln Farm

Open for over 23 years, family run garden centre – Kiln Farm Nursery in Ipswich – has grown from strength to strength – from its early days of owners Ruth and Paul planting their first 400 Christmas trees to running a centre famed across Suffolk for the quality of its plants and knowledgeable team.

In 2026 owners Ruth and Paul decided to undertake a major upgrade programme, turning their existing shop into a year-round café, building a large standalone retail space and increasing parking capacity from 10 to 50 spaces.

With their own-grown plant range integral to the centre’s offering, quality outdoor retail space was key to the transformation, with owners Ruth and Paul keen for outdoor display spaces to be browse-able year-round.

The wow

Our pre-designed range of shelters came into their own for this project. A generously dimensioned 6.3 m x 20 m canopy now sits adjacent to the centre’s new retail space, allowing customers to enjoy a seamless, weather protected transition from indoors to outdoors. Customers can now browse the centre’s enviable plant range in all its glory – whatever the weather.

The timber frame of the canopy echoes timber plant display stands giving the new outdoor retail space a natural, high-end feel that showcases the centre’s plants to their very best.

Our unique Opal 60 roofing, that allows 60% daylight penetration, bathes the area with light, while discreet lighting on each canopy strut ensures that even when winter nights draw in the area remains inviting and browse-able.

Our pre-designed range enables centres like Kiln Farm Nursery to upgrade their retail offer and enjoy all the benefits of our bespoke range – but with time and cost efficiencies.
