Creating a bold new hospital entrance canopy for a rejuvenated patient experience

The brief

As part of an ongoing rejuvenation project at Poole Hospital we were commissioned to create a new hospital entrance canopy that would increase patient flow and complement the hospital’s newly enhanced reception and communal areas.

The response

Working to detailed specifications provided by Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Noviniti and leading modular building contractor, Catfoss, we designed and manufactured a large, oversailing canopy. This hospital entrance canopy created a striking new entrance way that seamlessly tied in with the hospital’s new contemporary reception areas.

The wow

The high, light, and bright hospital entrance canopy we designed created a generous new weather protected area that stopped clustering around entrance doorways. This in turn increased patient flow, made for a calmer feeling on entering the hospital and also enhanced privacy for patients being transferred in and out of the hospital by ambulance.
