The front facing aspect of Hallsville Primary School was problematic. Not only did it lack character, but it was also basked in the full glare of the sun in summer, making classrooms uncomfortably hot. The area was also hard to utilise – too bleak in cold, rainy months and too exposed on hot days. They contacted us about options of shelter for schools.
We installed a distinctive 5m wide curved canopy running the full stretch of the school’s front façade. This instantly reduced heat levels in classrooms. It also created valuable shelter for the school enabling children to play, explore or craft outside. The new school canopy also functioned as a protective walkway, enabling staff to easily move between classrooms, whatever the weather. Canopies such as this provide excellent shelter for schools in all weathers.
The wow
Our timber frames are all sustainably sourced and manufactured on our own site so we can create truly bespoke designs tailored to a school’s specific needs. Whilst the primary purpose of this canopy was a practical one, the striking curved design we gave it also softened the school’s façade, creating an instantly friendlier and more inviting look.
