All-weather mini racetrack canopy accelerates family appeal

Craft Nursery near Colchester in Essex is a successful family run business that has thrived for two generations by making their centre as family friendly as possible. Alongside extensive plant displays and outdoor furniture collections, the centre is home to a hugely popular play barn, attracting thousands of families throughout the year.

Building on the success of the play barn, the team recently installed a new mini racetrack designed to give families another reason to visit and stay longer. Knowing how popular this new facility would be the team approached us to wanting to explore options for covering the attraction to ensure it can be enjoyed whatever the weather.

Following a complimentary site our specialist garden centre team and in-house design team worked closely with Craft Nurseries to design and install a canopy that keeps young drivers covered throughout the seasons.

The result is an impressive clear-span taper trellis canopy measuring 19m x 12m. Large enough to cover the entire racetrack, the structure also creates a comfortable viewing area where family and friends can cheer on every lap come rain, shine, sleet or even snow!

As well as providing protection from British downpours, the canopy also protects racers, the track and vehicles from prolonged sun exposure. Featuring our unique Opal 60 canopy cover, the structure screens out harmful UV rays while allowing 60% daylight penetration to create a light, bright racing experience.
