Having designed and installed a 30m x 5.1m timber canopy for Glendoick Garden Centre back in 2019, the popular garden centre near Perth came back to us wanting to create even more outdoor display space that could be meaningfully used throughout the year.

The wow

Two 35m x 9m canopies now provide shelter over a 630m2 area creating a generous new space for year-round plant and garden accessory display.

The elegant curves of the barrel-vaulted design are highlighted with timber arches to create a natural look that provides the perfect backdrop to the plants beneath. Steel frames ensure the hybrid structure will stand the test of time, no matter what the Scottish weather has in store and the new canopies are covered by our sector leading 25-year guarantees.

Open sides to the canopies ensure plants and people benefit from a connection to the outdoors, while six roof vents in the canopy keep an optimal temperature in the sheltered area below. When warm air rises it can escape through the ventilation gap each vent creates.

Our signature Opal 60 roofing ensures plenty of daylight penetration under the canopy. This creates a pleasant browsing experience for shoppers and favourable growing conditions for plants. In an added bonus the Opal 60 roofing also screens out harmful UV rays. So, shoppers at Glendoick aren’t just protected from Scotland’s notoriously strong wind and rain under the newly canopied areas but are also shielded from the strength of the sun – ideal for the many families that visit the centre.
