Courtyard canopy creates all-weather outdoor dining option for a school

We were approached by a main contractor who had been briefed by Winchcombe School to transform underutilised outdoor areas across the school grounds by adding a vast courtyard canopy.

Working in collaboration with the contractor and a team from the school, we created a large taper trellis canopy to cover an outdoor courtyard socialising and dining area that was previously only used for around a third of the year.

By covering the area with an all-weather canopy we retained the light and airy courtyard feel whilst transforming the space into one that could be used year-round and that now plays a central role in creating the school’s friendly, communal feel.

The wow

Our unique Opal 60 roofing membrane on the courtyard canopy incorporates UV protection, meaning that students are not only protected from wind and rain in the winter months but from also from harmful UV rays in the summer.
