Conical bar canopy creates a standout feature for a beautiful lakeside environment

The brief

We have worked with Away Resorts for many years and were delighted to be approached by their team once again when they were looking to create a signature shelter for a new, elevated lakeside bar at their popular Tattershall Lincolnshire holiday park.

The response

The expansive lake at the heart of the Tattershall resort is a natural convening spot and so the team wanted to capitalise on this with a new lakeside roof bar that would enjoy enviable views.

However, they soon realised that without weather protection, the elevated and exposed bar could become an under-utilised area.

We knew straight away that this project demanded an elegant solution. It needed to add to the sophisticated ambience of the bar, while enhancing the beauty of the view beyond.

With this in mind, our design team created a beautiful triple conic tensile canopy to provide inobtrusive and effective weather protection for those wanting to enjoy the views come rain or shine.

Importantly, the conical canopy emulated the design of other all-weather canopies we have installed across the park, helping to create a cohesive, signature look for the resort.

The wow

We don’t just design with practicality in mind. We’re also huge believers in the power of design to complement and enhance surroundings.

The elegant, curved aesthetic of the bar canopy carefully emulates the ripples of the lake during the daytime, while creating a stunning backdrop for coloured lighting that reflects off the water’s surface at night – creating a magical evening atmosphere in the bar.
