Off-the-shelf canopy provides sheltered all-weather play

Watcombe Children’s Centre Nursery in Torquay has such a strong philosophy of encouraging outdoor play. However, the nursery was keen to create a more sheltered play area that would enable year-round outdoor play and exploration, no matter what the British weather had in store. The nursery was also keen to create shelter for outdoor storage of coats, shoes and wellies.

The wow

One of our new off-the-shelf timber frame canopies provided the perfect solution. Measuring 4m wide by 21m long, the new nursery canopy runs the full length of one side of the nursery providing seamless indoor / outdoor connection in all weathers.

The sheltered area is now home to several play, creation and exploration stations and enables little ones to enjoy sand play, creative work, and play on trikes and slides come rain or shine.
