Bespoke garden centre canopy showcases plant ranges in all weathers

The brief

As part of a large multi destination revamp of their garden centres, Hillier came to us wanting to create an impressive new entryway, as well as a new protected area for showcasing outdoor plants year-round.

The response

To achieve a solution that was both impressive and cost effective, we designed a barrel vaulted canopy that fit exactly between the centre’s new retail building and existing steel canopies. We covered this bespoke garden centre canopy with our unique Opal 60 fabric. This  exclusive roof membrane covered the 400m2 area, allowing 60% natural daylight to penetrate, creating the ideal protected environment for plants and people, come rain or shine!

The wow

The beautifully curved arches, eaves beams, and posts of the new bespoke garden centre canopy were all constructed from sustainably sourced timber to give the new outdoor area a natural, contemporary feel. As we design and manufacture all our structures on a single site, we were able to match the wood stain to all other Hillier sites and also created striking new signage for the canopy to entice customers in.
