Visitor centre for The Wey and Arun Canal Trust, West Sussex.
This visitor centre was designed and built for the Wey and Arun Canal Trust (WACT). The building, on the canal side at Loxwood, will act as a vital information and resource centre to help raise awareness of WACT’s aim; working to achieve the restoration of a navigable link between the rivers Wey and Arun. In addition to this, the centre will act as a ticket office for the Trust’s successful boat trips throughout the summer.
The building is constructed using a sustainable glulaminated timber frame, highly insulated walls; triple glazed non reflective windows, and external timber cladding. A green sedum roof was also used for the building to encourage wildlife and biodiversity.
