St Luke’s Primary school required some covered outdoor learning and play space outside two of their classrooms. Fordingbridge were approached by the school to design and install two canopies at two different locations at the school premises to provide weather protection for pupils and staff.
One canopy was designed with a straight rafter and using our polycarbonate system for the roof cover so it could follow the pitch of the existing building.
The second canopy was designed with a curved arch and using our exclusive opal 60 roof. The canopy had to be fixed to an existing building due to significant drainage and services running throughout the area. The Fordingbridge design team came up with solutions to over come this which included bespoke brackets and fixings.
Opal60 has been developed exclusively for Fordingbridge in response to customer requests for a UV stable, 100% waterproof and fire-retardant canopy fabric. Maintenance is minimal due to a smooth finish and an innovative self-cleaning surface treatment.
All Fordingbridge structures hold industry leading guarantees and are structurally calculated to ensure the canopies are fit for purpose.
