As part of an expansion to the Emergency Department at John Radcliffe Hospital, Fordingbridge were engaged early to design and build an ambulance bay canopy to fit within the scheme.
The works at the premises, operated by Oxford University Hospitals, are part of the Scape Group National Construction Major Works – UK framework. Using our in-house design and engineering team, we were able to produce drawings for approval before moving to manufacture and pre-fabricate the structure at our West Sussex factory. Dealing all elements of the project in-house allows us to deliver optimum value and maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the works.
The 6.1m canopy offers weather protection to both pedestrians and ambulances thanks to the gull wing design throughout the 18m length, while the 16mm triple-wall polycarbonate roof ensures daylight can permeate through. The canopy has specifically been designed to allow high level vehicles, such as fire appliances, to have access to the bay.
Fordingbridge have the ability to work collaboratively on your project from both an early phase or at later stages of the build.
