Barnards Farm Gardens are open to the public as part of the National Gardens Scheme with all proceeds of the open days being donated to charity. There are 22 hectares of landscaped gardens with a significant collection of sculptures.
One way to see the vast expanse is to travel on the miniature railway, which starts its journey near the house. To enhance the visitor experience and to make it weather proof, the hosts of the gardens commissioned Fordingbridge to design and build the two canopies which form a station and ‘waiting room’. The first canopy was designed and installed by Fordingbridge a few years ago. The client came back to Fordingbridge to update an existing, tired canopy to transform into a light and airy weather protected space which is used as a waiting / café area. To provide extra weather protection, the canopy was designed with end and partial side cladding. The results, a stunning 102m2 weather protected space to improve the customer experience.
