Safety, comfort for users and practicality made up the brief at Ashley College in Wembley.
Fordingbridge were approached to provide weather protection over a new access ramp to a satellite classroom at the small college in Middlesex. With a unique tapered ground layout, our designers produced drawings to allow the full length of the ramp to be covered, allowing pupils to access the class from the main building with no consideration of rain or excess sun between lessons.
As part of the project, Fordingbridge were also tasked with adding weather protection to the outside gym area. This not only provides the benefit of using the facility in wet weather, but also blacks UV thanks to our exclusive fire retardant Opal 60 roofing fabric.
With the small college exclusively providing a SEND provision to the community, Fordingbridge staff and contractors strictly ensured that the requirements of the school were adhered to during surveying and installation, allowing the school to operate with the minimum of interruption.
