ambulance bay canopy pre-installation visit william harvey hospital

Fordingbridge are proud to have been approached to design, manufacture and install another ambulance bay canopy for a busy A&E department at an NHS hospital in Kent.

UPDATE: The completed project can be viewed here

The ward currently has a very small blue door shelter fitted to the pedestrian entrance, but the ambulances are exposed. This will be updated to incorporate an aesthetic 4.8m gull-wing canopy stretching the full length of the building. Not only will this provide a much better form of shelter for pedestrian patients, but it will more importantly cover visiting ambulances.

This installation will not only immediately enhance patient experience, but will also create a more comfortable working environment for the paramedics, allowing them to disembark emergency patients without having to work around temperamental UK weather conditions.

We have many years experience working within a live environment, meaning that Fordingbridge can be trusted with the task of installing such an upgrade within a working hospital. We regularly visit our sites to check progress and make assessments to ensure that every eventuality is covered.

Here one of our technical surveyors and our H&S Manager collaborated further with both the contractors Special Works Operations Manager and the NHS Project Manager, to make sure that this busy Accident and Emergency Department will continue to operate with both patient and staff safety paramount. Here, working in sections, we can ensure the works site is secure while still allowing for paramedics and patients to access the ward.
