Sustainable building design and construction
Although the construction industry struggles with the requirement to be more sustainable, at Fordingbridge we are striving to ensure 1) that our structures do their job well, last a long time and use energy efficiently and 2) that we run our office, factory and construction sites in a way that has the least environmental impact possible without compromising the success of our business.
Our move towards sustainability is an ongoing process and we are proud of the progress we have made so far. The sustainable building design principles we are developing can be seen in the above examples and range from simply ensuring our timber is from renewable and responsibly managed sources (which, of course, we do), to the most cutting edge technologies in ensuring our eco-buildings are exemplary in their function and energy consumption.
If you would like to know more, check out our environmental policy, see our on-site sustainable building where we continually experiment with new methods and technologies to improve the sustainability and function of our designs. our recent sustainable buildings are all rated BREAAM excellent and exceed Part L2 Building Regulations compliance.
