Surrey students go undercover

When approached by Rodborough Technology College in Surrey, Fordingbridge plc designed and installed this innovative cantilevered bus stop shelter which provides protection from rain in the winter and harmful UV in the summer.

The initial brief was to keep students and supervising teachers dry when waiting for school buses and the canopy has proved to be a huge success.

Steel frameworks may be hot dip galvanised for a maintenance free life, powder coated or painted to complement existing buildings.

Roof claddings can be either Opal 60 which has an expected life of 8 years or a hard wearing triple wall polycarbonate which has an expected life of 15 years. Both fabrics are translucent, reduce UV transmission by at least 95% and meet appropriate British Standards for fire performance.
